Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine flour, granulated sugar, and softened butter until crumbly. Press firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Bake for 15 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. While the crust bakes, mix sliced apples with brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  5. For the caramel, melt granulated sugar over medium heat until amber; stir in heavy cream and sea salt until smooth.
  6. Spread apples on baked crust and drizzle with warm caramel sauce.
  7. Bake for another 25-30 minutes until apples are tender.
