  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 oz canned diced tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Stir in minced garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef; cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Mix in canned tomatoes, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, boil pasta in salted water until al dente according to package instructions; drain.
  6. In a baking dish, layer half of the pasta followed by half of the Bolognese sauce and half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers.
  7. Top with remaining cheese and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
