Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Additional melted butter for greasing
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare the dough: In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar; let it froth for 5 minutes. Add melted butter and gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms. Knead on a floured surface until smooth.
  2. 2. Let it rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover it with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  3. 3. Make the filling: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Chop pecans if not done yet.
  4. 4. Roll out: Punch down the risen dough and roll it into a rectangle about half an inch thick. Spread melted butter over the top, sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture, and add pecans evenly.
  5. 5. Roll and slice: Starting from one edge, roll the dough tightly into a log and slice into rolls about two inches thick.
  6. 6. Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Place rolls in a greased baking dish over caramel sauce and let them rise briefly before baking for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
