  • 1 cup breakfast sausage (cooked and crumbled)
  • 1/2 cup fresh figs (chopped, or 1/3 cup dried figs)
  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or rosemary (chopped)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8-inch thickness and cut into squares for mini tart molds.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned. Set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix chopped figs with softened cream cheese until smooth. Stir in cooked sausage, honey, and herbs until well combined.
  4. Spoon filling into each pastry square, fold corners over, and brush tops with egg wash.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
