Ingredients
  

For the Base
  • 12 ounces penne pasta uncooked
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup cooked chicken breast shredded
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
For the Topping
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil chopped for garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shredded chicken and Italian seasoning, stirring for about 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the marinara sauce and stir until heated through, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Combine the cooked pasta with the chicken and sauce mixture in a large baking dish, mixing well.
  6. Top the pasta with shredded mozzarella and grated parmesan cheese evenly.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil, and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
