Ingredients
  

For the Gnocchi
  • 16 ounces potato gnocchi
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes 28 ounces
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
For Garnish
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil whole leaves

Method
 

Cook the Gnocchi
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the potato gnocchi and cook according to package instructions until they float to the surface, about 3-4 minutes.
  2. Once cooked, drain the gnocchi and set aside.
Prepare the Sauce
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the crushed tomatoes to the skillet and stir well. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
  3. Stir in the heavy cream, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until heated through.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the cooked gnocchi to the sauce and gently toss to coat the gnocchi evenly.
  2. Serve hot, garnished with grated parmesan cheese and whole basil leaves.
