Ingredients

For the Pasta
  • 12 ounces fettuccine
  • 1 tablespoon salt for boiling water
For the Steak
  • 1 pound sirloin steak cut into strips
  • 3 tablespoons butter divided
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
For the Garnish
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated

Method

Cook the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the fettuccine and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
  3. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.
Prepare the Steak
  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
  2. Add the steak strips, season with salt and pepper, and cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned and cooked to your liking.
  3. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Garlic Butter Sauce
  1. In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic.
  2. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
Combine Pasta and Steak
  1. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic butter sauce.
  2. Toss to coat the pasta evenly, adding reserved pasta water as needed for desired sauce consistency.
  3. Return the cooked steak to the skillet and mix well.
Serve
  1. Plate the garlic butter steak pasta.
  2. Garnish with chopped parsley and grated parmesan cheese before serving.
