Cooking the Base
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- Drain excess fat, then stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Add the penne pasta and beef broth to the skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 10-12 minutes, or until pasta is al dente.
- Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.
Adding Tater Tots
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Spread the frozen tater tots evenly over the top of the pasta mixture in the skillet.
- Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the tater tots are golden brown and crispy.
Finishing Touches
- Remove from oven and drizzle with ketchup and mustard before serving.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then serve hot and enjoy!
